Veganuary is the best month of the year to eat out as a vegan. Chains launch new dishes, run offers and put their vegan options front and centre. In 2026, 30 million people worldwide took part, and the high street noticed.

Last year's launches are a good guide to what to expect. Several of these were limited editions, so they may not be on the menu now.

Making the most of Veganuary when eating out
- Check the menu online first. Look for a vegan key and a separate allergen guide.
- Always say "vegan", not "no cheese". Vegan dishes often use different ingredients, not just fewer of them.
- Ask about shared fryers and grills if it matters to you. Good staff will give you an honest answer.
- Give feedback. If a Veganuary dish is great, say so. It's the best way to keep it on the menu after January.
Allergies: vegan isn't the same as allergy-safe. If you have an allergy, always tell staff and check the allergen guide.

When do chains announce their Veganuary 2027 menus?
Usually around the turn of the year. Some chains announce in late December and others in the first week of January. We'll add each one to this page as soon as it's confirmed.
Are Veganuary specials permanent?
Not always. Many are limited editions for January only, and some are trials that run for a few months, like Subway's Smashed Falafel sub in 2026. If you love a Veganuary dish, tell the staff and leave a review, as feedback helps decide what stays.
Which UK chain is best for vegans?
It depends what you fancy. Wahaca has a dedicated vegan menu, Pizza Express has six vegan pizzas and oat drink coffee as standard, and Wagamama has several vegan mains. The year-round lists on this page are a good place to start.
Do I need to wait for Veganuary to eat vegan at chains?
No. Every chain on this page already has vegan options all year round. Veganuary specials are a bonus on top.
