Vegan options at McDonald's: what's still vegan in 2026

McDonald's UK cut most of its meat-free menu in early 2026, but the vegan McPlant is still here. Here's what you can still order, and what's gone.

In January 2026, McDonald's UK removed most of its meat-free range, including the Veggie Dippers, the Vegetable Deluxe, the Spicy Veggie wrap and the Veggie Dipper Happy Meal. The chain said the vegan McPlant would stay, and it's now the only vegan main on the menu.

The McPlant

The UK McPlant is fully vegan as standard. It has a plant-based patty co-developed with Beyond Meat, a vegan cheese alternative, vegan sauce, ketchup, mustard, onion, pickles, lettuce and tomato in a sesame bun. McDonald's says it's accredited as vegan by the Vegetarian Society and cooked separately from its other burgers using dedicated utensils.

You can order it on its own or as a meal with fries and a drink.

Sides

  • McDonald's Fries
  • Carrot Sticks
  • Apple Slices

That's the full list. McDonald's UK vegan menu has just four items: the McPlant, fries, carrot sticks and apple slices. Hash browns, the apple pie and the desserts aren't on it, and the McFlurry, sundaes and milkshakes all contain dairy.

Drinks

Bottled water, orange juice and the soft drinks are the safest choices. McDonald's coffee isn't listed as vegan, as it may contain traces of milk.

What was removed in 2026

  • Veggie Dippers and the Veggie Dipper Happy Meal
  • Vegetable Deluxe
  • The Spicy Veggie wrap

That means there's no vegan Happy Meal main for children at the moment, although the carrot sticks and apple slices are vegan.

How to order with confidence

  • Order the McPlant as it comes. It's vegan as standard, so there's no need to remove the cheese or sauce. Adding extras could change that, so check before you customise it.
  • Stick to the vegan list. Only four items are on it, so if something isn't the McPlant, fries, carrot sticks or apple slices, check before you order.
  • Use the app or kiosk. It's the easiest way to check what your restaurant has today and to see allergen information.

Allergies: vegan isn't the same as allergy-safe. If you have an allergy, check McDonald's allergen information before ordering.
