This policy explains what personal information Your Vegan Customer collects when you use yourvegancustomer.com, buy our products or get in touch, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it to what we genuinely need, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Your Vegan Customer is run by Naomi Jardine as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, email us at naomi@yourvegancustomer.com.
What we collect and why
When you buy the toolkit
Purchases are handled by our shop provider, Payhip, with payments processed by Stripe or PayPal. We receive your name, email address, what you bought, the price paid and your country (needed for VAT). We never see or store your full card details. We use this information to deliver your download, provide customer support, handle refunds and keep the financial records we are legally required to keep.
When you sign up for the free checklist or our emails
If you give us your email address to receive the free checklist, we will send you the checklist and occasional emails with tips and news about our products. Our emails are sent using MailerLite. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
When you contact us or send a venue enquiry
If you email us or use the enquiry form on our restaurants page, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, venue name and message. If you completed the self-check before sending an enquiry, your result is included so we can reply helpfully. We use this only to respond to you and, if you ask us to, to provide our services.
The self-check tool
Your answers to the self-check on our restaurants page are worked out in your own browser. They are not sent to us or stored anywhere unless you choose to include your result in an enquiry.
When you visit the website
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages securely and protect the site from attacks. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
Analytics and cookies
If you choose Accept analytics in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages are visited, roughly which country or region visitors are in, what type of device and browser they use, and which website or search brought them here. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics does not give us your name or contact details, and it does not log or store IP addresses. If you choose Reject, Google Analytics does not load at all.
With your consent, Google Analytics sets these cookies:

We also save your cookie choice in your browser so we don't ask on every page. This is not shared with anyone. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's cookies and site data.
We do not use advertising cookies. When you use the buy buttons, Payhip's checkout may set cookies that are needed for the checkout to work.

Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers that help us run Your Vegan Customer, and only as far as they need it:
- Payhip, our online shop, which also calculates and collects VAT on digital sales.
- Stripe and PayPal, to process payments.
- MailerLite, to send our emails.
- Cloudflare, which hosts our website.
- Google, which provides our web fonts and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics.
- Our email provider, for messages you send us.
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC. We never sell your personal information or share it for other companies' marketing.
International transfers
Some of our providers store or process information outside the UK, for example in the European Union or the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Purchase records: six years after the end of the financial year of the purchase, as required for tax purposes.
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, after which Google deletes it automatically.
- Enquiries and emails: up to two years after our last contact, unless we are working together, in which case we keep them for as long as needed for that work.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it;
- ask for your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time.
To use any of these rights, email naomi@yourvegancustomer.com. We will reply within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
